How it began…
In April 2020 the Kids Breakfast Club initiative began in Sydney at the Georges River College Peakhurst Campus, serving breakfast to years 7 to 10.
How is it run?
There is currently one school participating in the Sydney program that runs 2 mornings a week serving over 150 students. The program has been made possible with the help of school staff who serve and organise the breakfasts weekly.
How has it been received?
The Kids Breakfast Club has been well received by the community and its students, with a range of impacts on the students, including better health, educational and social benefits. Some students rely solely on the food from the Kids Breakfast Club and with a proper nutritious breakfast to start the day are more likely to concentrate in class and therefore have a much better learning experience!
