Ukraine Relief Efforts

RELIEF EFFORTS HAVE ALREADY BEGUN

Amma Poland (Amma Polska Association) has been very active in helping refugees of all nationalities fleeing the war-torn country of Ukraine. The volunteers have been helping transport hundreds of refugees crossing over at the Polish border to Warsaw by bus. Bearing the harsh winter, the volunteers have been providing clothing, medicines, shoes, food, blankets, and other basic needs to those who reach the borders having travelled long distances. Accommodation is also being arranged for those who do not have a shelter. Volunteers have also been active at the Hungarian and Romanian borders.

Marcin Kroll, one of the volunteers of Amma Poland who is leading the rescue efforts said,

‘Thousands of people are coming to Poland from Ukraine, escaping war. They are crowding the streets here. When we saw the plight of these people, we immediately decided to extend all possible help. We are working closely with officials of the city of Łódź and the Łódź Humanitarian Aid Center here in Poland. They are in constant touch with their counterparts in Ukrainian cities.’

Swami Shubhamritananda, who is coordinated Amma’s Embracing the World activities in Europe said,

‘It is really inspiring to see the dedication of Amma’s volunteers in Poland, Hungary and Romania in helping all the refugees and students who have crossed over to this side of the border.’

To lend support to Amma Poland, volunteers from the Embracing the World in Germany are also making their way to the Polish borders.
Sreepriya and Rohit, from Munich, have taken time off to volunteer.

‘We are so happy that we can be of some service to our brothers and sisters crossing the border. They have gone through so much in the last few days. The spirit of the volunteers has been amazing.’

If you would like to donate funds to help the work of Amma Poland you can do so through the Amma.org website choosing Ukraine Refugee Support from the menu.

This event is currently live-streamed every Saturday from Amritapuri at 5:00pm IST (Indian Standard Time), approximately 9:30pm AEST (Australian Eastern Standard Time).

Even though Amma will not be able to conduct her normal world tours this year, the M.A. Center US would like to offer you the opportunity to support Amma’s charitable activities through these online events.

Amma’s Messages on Coronavirus (COVID-19)

Wake up and move forward with caution (Part 6)

30 May, 2020

“All of us are looking forward to the day when we can reclaim our freedom from the clutches of the COVID-19 virus. Everyone is waiting for the day when we can welcome a new world of hope and light. At this juncture, we have to make a firm resolve that we will never forget the lessons that Nature has taught us during these times —that we will never repeat the mistakes we have made in the past.” Read full message…

The coronavirus is a wake-up call (Part 5)

27 May, 2020

“The coronavirus is a wake-up call. It is true that these are trying times. But we should try as hard as possible to remain cheerful and happy. At the same time, maintain a high level of alertness. This is our responsibility. Remaining cheerful in the face of difficulties does not mean suppressing unhappiness we may feel. It doesn’t mean to suppress; it means to surmount. The best way to preserve the mind’s state of happiness is to become engaged and immersed in some useful activity.” Read full message…

Coronoavirus is a wakeup call

Pandemic is a warning from Nature to treat her with respect and to protect her (Part 4)

25 May, 2020

“We have begun to see this entire world as a business. Not as a family. When we see the world as an economy or as a business, we can only appreciate the prospect of unlimited growth. However, such growth isn’t always beneficial. Cancer cells have limitless growth, and this is why they kill the individual. Likewise, the growth that doesn’t help society isn’t the right type of growth. It will bring destruction to society and the individual.” Read full message…

Amma - Pandemic is a warning from Nature

Corona is Nature’s protective reaction to heal herself (Part 3)

23 May, 2020

“The corona pandemic is completely refiguring how we look at life. Nature, reeling under exploitation from human beings, has got a respite and a chance to heal. When we sprain a joint or fracture a bone, that part begins to swell. The swelling is a protective reaction of the body. It is the body’s warning that that part needs to heal. Similarly, we have been torturing and exploiting Nature. And this is Nature’s protective reaction to heal herself. This is what Amma feels.” Read full message…

Face the hardest situations of life with a smile (Part 2)

23 May, 2020

“Sorrows and hardships will definitely come in our life. But often they will serve to make us stronger. If a thorn pricks our foot as we are running, we will stop and remove it. Moreover, that experience will make us cautious. We will be alert and look for other thorns in the path. We may stop running and proceed with more care. We will be calmer, slower and more cautious.” Read full message…

A happy person is a strong person (Part 1)

23 May, 2020

We have been staying within our homes and apartments for many weeks now, in keeping with the lockdown measures against Coronavirus. Most of you may be fed up with this. Maybe it is causing many of your stress. Because of the lockdown, many plans have had to be put on hold. Regardless, my children should try to remain as cheerful as possible. Read full message…

Corona: Nature’s loud alarm

12 April, 2020

“For decades Amma has stressed the necessity of mankind changing its lifestyle to be more harmonious with Nature and warning that failure to do so would result in increased natural disasters and disease. “The selfish things man has done to Nature are now coming back in the form of such epidemics” Read full message…

Amma

Let us come together to light the lamp of hope, compassion and unity.

5 April, 2020

“During this time, when the entire world is reeling in the darkness of the COVID-19 pandemic, let each of us come together to light the lamp of hope, compassion and unity. The virus is filling us internally and externally with the poison of fear and anxiety. To destroy it, we have to ignite our inner flame, our inner light. Let us light the lamp of new life, the light of goodness, the light of knowledge that dispels the darkness of ignorance. Let us eliminate this poison with the panacea of right action and right thinking at the right time.” Read full message…

Pray sincerely and practice due diligence & caution against Coronavirus

23 March, 2020

“Amma knows my children are all living in fear of Coronavirus. Amma is thinking of all of you and praying for you. This is a time when you have to exercise extreme caution and alertness. It is the time to respond with courage, self-control and unity. Amma knows that my children are all afraid, but fear is not helpful now. What is needed is caution and alertness. Courage is the primary thing. With courage, you can overcome anything. So, abandon fear and gather courage. The antivirus that can kill this virus is courage. Courage is our mind’s antivirus.” Read full message…
